As a Developer Advocate for Unity, my work was focused on empowering game makers to bring their creative visions to life using the editor. These efforts were divided across three areas:
Driving adoption and supporting retention of Unity features by creating and presenting educational content for game developers
Advocating for the needs of Unity users by working with internal product teams to ensure creator voices were represented in our feature improvements
Fostering a vibrant and engaged community of Unity creators by sharing resources and inspiration to help them reach their goals
To achieve this, I developed highly-rated technical presentations, workshops, keynotes, and learning materials that were both engaging and informative — inspiring developers to think differently and push the boundaries of what was possible for their Unity projects. I would also create blog posts, articles, and videos to support community outreach and product marketing efforts. Building relationships and connecting Unity users to support and opportunities was also a crucial aspect of my role.
My presentations were often delivered at major industry events like Unite, GDC, SIGGRAPH, and Pixelatl. They’ve been attended by thousands in-person, hundreds of thousands virtually, and have influenced millions in pipeline revenue. I was always searching for new and innovative ways to showcase Unity features in order to help creators easily navigate the complex world of game development.
